Environmentalist Viral Desai will develop a school as a model green school in Surat

March 1: Renowned environmentalist and businessman Viral Desai distributed benches for the students of Khushaldas Vanmalibhai Palwala school at Adajan Pal, Surat. DCF Puneet Nayyar and Surat Corporator Nileshbhai Patel were present on the occasion. In the program, Greenman Viral Desai adopted Khushaldas Vanmalibhai Palwala school and announced his plans to make it a model green school with environmental values.

To provide the primary school students appropriate facilities with environmental awareness, unique environment theme based school benches were specially designed by Viral Desai. Each bench had a unique picture and theme of paintings of environment protection and love for nature so as to motivate the children for environmental concern and care.

On this occasion, Viral Desai said, “My main aim is that with the provision of basic facilities these children should also develop their utmost concern, care and understanding for the environment. After all, in today’s world we need citizens who are truly committed to the environment. That is why I have decided to make this school the first to be based on the theme of ecosystem restoration and climate action.”

During the bench distribution program, Viral Desai and DCF Puneet Nayyar also interacted with the students on climate action as well as ecosystem restoration, in which the students participated enthusiastically. The principal of the school, Prakashbhai Parmar, also expressed his pleasure on this occasion, saying, “As a teacher, we are naturally happy that the students of the school get the benefit of the bench alongside awareness about the environment.”

Puneet Nayyar said, “The idea of these benches designed to make students aware of forestry or environmental protection is to be applauded. It is commendable that Viral Desai has worked in this direction.

It is noteworthy that the concept, design and execution of Green Udhna railway station was also done by Greenman Viral Desai. Today, this railway station is the first in the country, Asia and the world to be built on the theme of climate action and ecosystem restoration.
