Institute Of Health Sciences Bhubaneswar Invites Applications for BPT & BASLP Course 2022

Bhubaneswar, March 22:  Do you know there are 1 billion disabled people living around us, equating to 15% of the world’s population? They are in dire need of rehabilitation sciences professionals. Considering this need, the Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) is running various educational programmes to cultivate future rehabilitation experts. The institute is working passionately to eliminate the suffering from the lives of disabled people.

Earlier, there wasn’t any institute in India working in this field. So, it was the need of the hour to establish an institute that emphasises the betterment of disabled lives. I am glad that IHS came into existence and that too, in India’s “Temple City”.

IHS was established by Professor Satya Mahapatra, the Founder & Director of the institute, who realised many loopholes in the rehabilitation sector. The challenges of the disabled highly influenced him, so he took the initiative of establishing IHS in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Today, IHS is imparting rehabilitation education to lakhs of students as top one of the BASLP colleges in India. It is being operated from a uniquely designed campus built with vernacular architecture. The surrounding areas create a perfect learning environment for the students.

The institute has put a tremendous focus on in-house research and innovation in special education to establish treatment protocols in multi-modal therapy. It has been done in order to treat the most difficult conditions, such as autism, in patients. The students are also trained in learning the most advanced forms of medical rehabilitation with hands-on practical BASLP course experience.

“It’s not the disability but the lack of treatment that leads to suffering.” It is what IHS believes in. It considers a complete and comprehensive intervention as the most important step for treating disability and changing lives.

Many professional events are also organised every year at the international and national levels to attract globally competent talent. In addition, IHS releases many BASLP course research journals and textbooks in audiology to deliver something extra to students and innovators. Some of the journals include ISAM Journal, Indian Journal of Communication Sciences, and many others. For the purpose of sensitisation and creating awareness, we are also providing training to the teachers, physicians, and administrators.

Since its inception, IHS has produced a lot of audiologists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, etc. They are currently employed in government hospitals, medical schools, occupational health services, the armed forces, or handling their own clinical practice. In reality, the alumni of IHS are spread all over India and abroad, including Australia, Europe, America, and Middle Eastern nations.
