Candor IVF Center’s unique initiative on Women’s Day: Free Pap smear tests for women

Surat (Gujarat) [India], March 12: Marking International Women’s Day in a unique way, Surat-based Candor IVF Center organised a free Pap smear test camp for women. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about cervical cancer and encourage preventive healthcare among women. More than 1,000 women benefitted from the camp.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Jaydev Dhameliya, IVF & Reproductive Medicine Specialist, Candor IVF Center said the objective was to promote awareness and encourage women to take preventive measures against cervical cancer.

“Through this initiative, we aimed to educate women about the importance of Pap smear tests and encourage them to focus on their own health. By organising this camp on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we aimed to reach more people about the importance of preventive screenings and spread this life-saving message more effectively,” Dr. Dhameliya said.

At a similar camp organised by Candor IVF Center two years back, 800+ women had undergone free Pap smear test. This year, the camp broke the record, with over 1,000 women undergoing the test.

What is a Pap smear test?

A Pap smear is a simple, painless, and highly effective screening test that helps in the early detection of cervical cancer. The test examines cells from the cervix, and if any abnormalities are found, they can be treated before developing into cancer. Regular Pap smear tests play a crucial role in preventing cervical cancer.

Why is Pap smear test important?

Cervical cancer often does not show symptoms in its early stages. A Pap smear test helps detect the disease before it progresses. By identifying abnormal cells, the test allows for timely treatment, potentially preventing the development of cancer.

Candor IVF is the best choice for fertility treatment in Surat. With an experienced team of IVF specialists and world-class equipment, the Center has been serving patients since 2009.
